Variation of Se Content in Tartary Buckwheat Seeds

[Objective] The study was to provide the guidance for the development and utilization of special resources of tartary buckwheat which was rich in Se.[Method] 150 tartary buckwheat collecting lines from different producing areas were planted in the same place at the same quarter,and Se content in their harvested seeds were determined with molecule fluorescence photometry to study the genetic and variation law of Se content between different tartary buckwheat collecting lines.[Result] Se content in different tartary buckwheat collecting lines was greatly different,its average content was 0.096 3 mg/kg.with variation range of 0.013 5-0.196 6 mg/kg and variation coefficient of 41.1%.According to Se content in tartary buckwheat seeds,150 collecting lines could be divided into 3 types,such as low Se type(Se content was lower than 0.037 mg/kg),moderate Se type(Se content was 0.037-0.181 mg/kg) and high Se type (Se content was higher than 0.181 mg/kg).[Conclusion] The study had important significance for further study on enrichment mechanism of tartary buckwheat on Se.
