Safety Evaluation on Myricetin and Crude Extract from Waxberry Leaves to Non-target Organisms

[Objective]The study aimed to supply important basis for developing environment-friendly pesticides with myricetin and crude extract from waxberry leaves as effective components.[Method]Referring to "Test Criterion for Environment Safety Evaluation on Chemical Pesticides",the toxicity of myricetin and crude extract from waxberry leaves on non-target organisms was determined and the safety evaluation was carried out.[Result]Myricetin and crude extract from waxberry leaves had low toxicity on non-target organisms,such as earthworm,silkworm and soil microbes.Myricetin showed low toxicity and the crude extract from waxberry leaves showed moderate toxicity on tadpole.The high-concentration crude extract from waxberry leaves had some apastia effect on silkworm.[Conclusion]Myricetin and crude extract from waxberry leaves had low toxicity non-target organisms in environment and they were relatively safe.
