ICP-MS Determination of Lead and Cadmium in Pollution-free Agricultural Soil Samples

[Objective] The aim was to determine the trace lead and cadmium in pollution-free agricultural soil samples rapidly and easily. [Method] A method for determination of trace lead and cadmium in pollution-free agricultural soil samples by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) using wet digestion were developed. [Result] Under the optimum conditions the detection limit were Pb 1.70-1 000.00 mg /kg and Cd 0.05-100.00 mg /kg respectively. The relative standard deviation was less than 3.4% and 5.2%(n=12)respectively. [Conclusion ]The method was simple,low detection limits,so it can be successfully used for the determination of trace lead and cadmium in pollution-free agricultural soil samples.
