Study on Photosynthetic Characteristics of Prunus avium L. in Shanghai

[Objective]The research aimed to study the photosynthetic characteristics of Prunus avium L.in Shanghai.[Method]The photosynthetic characteristics of leaves in four Prunus avium L.cultivars(Labins,Van,Brooks and Summit) in Shanghai were studied.[Result]The results showed that the Chlorophyll content of Brooks and Summit were higher than Labins and Van.There was no interrelation between Pn and Chlorophyll content in the four cultivars.Labins and Van had higher stomata density but smaller stomata size.The light saturation point of different cultivars was 800 μmol/(m2·s),and the light compensation point of Labins only was 11.7 μmol/(m2·s).Although Brooks had photoinhibition,it had a high utilization ratio to weak light and low concentration CO2,exhibiting some characters of shade plants.The most suitable cultivars for green house or rainy regions was Brooks.[Conclusion]The study can provide theoretical support for introduction and good quality and high efficiency cultivation of Prunus avium L.in the south of the Yangtze River.
