Studies on Chemical Constituents in Volatile Oils of Tibetan Rhododendron lepidotum Wall. ex G. Don

[Objective]The research aimed to study the chemical constituents in the volatile oils from the aerial parts of tibetan Rhododendron lepidotum Wall.ex G.Don.[Method]The volatile oils in the aerial parts of Rhododendron lepidotum Wall.ex G.Don were extracted by water steam distillation and its constituents were identified by GC-MS method.[Result]A total of 64 chromatographic peaks were separated and 60 components were identified,occupying 98.70% of total amount.The main compounds included alpha-Pinene(18.30%),Limonene(14.85%),Naphthalene(11.78%),beta-Pinene(8.81%),gamma-Terpinene(5.54%),trans-Caryophyllene(4.57%),Nerolidol (3.19%),m-Cymene(2.99%),Caryophyllene oxide(2.37%),beta-Myrcene(2.03%),etc.[Conclusion]The volatile oils in the aerial parts of Rhododendron lepidotum Wall.ex G.Don was reported for the first time,which provided a scientific basis for fully developing and utilizing Rhododendron lepidotum Wall.ex G.Don.
