Effect of Different Raw Spacing Sowing Modes on Production Performance of Hercules Sweet Sorghum

[Objective]The study aimed to discuss the effect of different raw spacing sowing modes on production performance of Hercules sweet sorghum in stony desertification area.[Method]In the randomized block experiment design with single factor in the stony desertification area of Three Gorge reservoir area,2 raw spacing modes was taken as the equal row spacing and wide narrow row spacing and 4 seeding treatments were set up to study he effect of different raw spacing sowing methods on production performance of Hercules sweet sorghum.[Result]The observation on the phenological period showed that the different raw sowing treatments had little effect on the phenological period of Hercules sweet sorghum.The variance analysis indicated that the different sowing modes had extremely significant effects on the leaf length and stem circumference,had the significant effects on yield,plant height,leaf width and the ratio of stem and leaf and had no significant effects on the tiller number.The effects of different raw spacing sowing modes on the yield of Hercules sweet sorghum was follows:equal row spacing of 35 cm :35 cm wide narrow row spacing of 70 cm :35 cm equal row spacing of 50 cm :50 cm wide narrow row spacing of 100 cm :40 cm.The optimum raw spacing sowing mode was the equal row spacing of 35 cm :35 cm,which made the yield of Hercules sweet sorghum at 61 400.00 kg/hm2.[Conclusion]the study provided the scientific basis on the good quality and high yield cultivation in the stony desertification area of Three Gorge reservoir area.
