Analysis on Temporal and Spatial Characteristics of Temperature and Precipitation in Liaoning Province

LI Guang-xia et al (Shenyang Central Meteorological Observatory,Shenyang,Liaoning 110016)  
Based on the precipitation and temperature data collected from 53 meteorological stations in Liaoning province from 1960 to 2009,the distribution features of mean temperature,minimum temperature,maximum temperature and precipitation of many years were analyzed.Based on this,the temporal and spatial characteristics of temperature and precipitation were analyzed by using empirical orthogonal function(EOF).The result showed that the spatial distribution feature of temperature and precipitation in Liaoning province had better consistency in recent 50 years,but there also existed difference between west and east as well as north and south.Mean temperature,minimum temperature and maximum temperature were increasing,the maximum temperature appeared in west Liaoning province,while the minimum in east Liaoning province,their variation trend showed asymmetry,the temperature increase was the strongest in winter and the weakest in autumn.The precipitation took on an nearly equal spacing decreasing tendency from southeast to northwest in Liaoning province.It was found through the time coefficient analysis on each eigenvector that the time coefficients of mean temperature,minimum temperature and maximum temperature were increasing,while the time coefficient of precipitation was decreasing,which showed that the climate of Liaoning took on the variety of tendency,namely,temperature increasing,while precipitation decreasing,especially in 1990s.
