Antioxidant Activity of Extracts from Mongolian Medicine Axillary choerospondias fruit in vitro

[Objective]The research aimed to study the antioxidant activity of extracts from Mongalian medicine axillary choerospondias fruit(Fructus Choerospondiatis) so as to provide theoretical basis for understanding the mechanism of Fructus Choerospondiatis to improve the cardiovascular system.[Method]The antioxidant activities of each extract from Mongalian medicine axillary choerospondias fruit were tested in vitro by using pyrogallol autoxidation method,potassium ferricyanide reduction method and Fenton method.[Result]Both the crude extracts and ion exchange chromatography extracts exhibited certain antioxidant capacity and strong reductibility,the crude extracts had strong capacity to scavenge both ·OH and O-2·,while the ion exchange chromatography extracts had strong scavenging capability of ·OH,but weak capacity to scavenge O-2·.[Conclusion]Extracts from Axillary choerospondias fruit by different methods had different antioxidant activity,and the antioxidant activity mechanism of different substances was also different.
