Study on Ultrasonic Power Extraction of Costunolide and Dehydrocostuslactone from Radix valdimiriae

[Objective] The best process conditions of ultrasonic power-assisted extraction of costunolide and dehydrocostuslactone from Radix Vladimiriae were studied.[Method] Taking ethanol as the extraction agent,powder of Radix Vladimiriae as tested material,the single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments were carried out to study effects of ultrasonic power,extraction time,solid to liquid ratio and extraction temperature on extraction.[Result] Order of four factors which affect the extraction rate of costunolide and dehydrocostuslactone from Radix Vladimiriae were extraction temperature extraction time solid to liquid ratio ultrasonic power.Extraction temperature affected the extraction rates significantly.The optimum extraction conditions were showed as following: extraction temperature 70 ℃,ultrasonic power 300 W,extraction time 50 min,solid to liquid ratio 1∶25(g/ml).Under these process conditions,the extracting rates of costunolide and dehydrocostuslactone from Radix Vladimiriae were 1.36% and 1.56% respectively.[Conclusion] These primary results might provide theoretic basis and experiment reference for the industrial extraction and application of costunolide and dehydrocostuslactone from Radix Vladimiriae
