Study on Potential Ecological Risk and Environmental Capacity of Heavy Metal in Soil nearby Baili Rhododendron Mining Areas

[Objective]The aim was to study the status quo of heavy metal pollution in soil in Baili Rhododendron mining areas.[Method]The soil nearby the mining areas was selected to carry out the heavy metal contents determination,and the potential ecological risk evaluation and environmental capacity were analyzed based on Hakanson potential ecological risk indexes method and environmental indexes method.[Result]Heavy metal had already generated a different ecological harmfulness to soil nearby the mining areas,especially Hg and Cd,the nearest was in high risk,moreover,the bearing capacity of heavy metals to soil was lower,just in warning level or no capacity state.[Conclusion]As mined Baili Rhododendron mining areas,we should prevent and control heavy metals pollution within scenic regions quickly.

This region is so fascinating that people call it "Hundred Li(500m)Azalea Forest". It has a great value for ecology and tourism to exploit and develop the azalea forest.The soil ecplogical conditions in this area are studied by means of correlation analysis between soil types and vegetation groups. the soil of this area can be divided into 8 types.
