Change Trend Analysis of Chemical Composition in Flue-cured Tobacco Middle and Upper Leaves after Topping

[Objective] This paper aims to provide theoretical reference of each measure in tobacco production on tobacco leaves quality.[Method] Taking tobacco as investigation material,chemical component of upper leaves of are compared.[Results] After topping in flue-curred tobacco,nicotine content increases quickly.There are the highest climaxes 45 days in upper leaf and 30 days in middle leaf after topping.Total nitrogen content decreases gradually.Nitrogen has an increase trend of exponent index.Total sugar content reduces but sugar content increases gradually.Starch contents have a contrast between upper leave and middle leaf: upper leaf increases while middle leaf decreases all along.[Results] Topping could influence the accumulation of chemical components in tobacco.Topping at right time could make nutrition allocation in tobacco more reasonable.
