Climate Change and Desertification of Central and Western Regions of Inner Mongolia in History and Culture Period

YU Zhi-yong(History and Cultural College,Inner Mongolia Normal University,Hohhot,Inner Mongolia 010022)
Central-western region of Inner Mongolia located in northern border of China,in the fragile ecological environment belt, has a long and complex process of natural evolution, and is a disaster-prone and vulnerable to desertification area, sensitive on natural and man-made disturbances.Based on discussing the general situation of climate formation in central-western region of Inner Mongolia, the climate change and desertification in ancient history and culture period were reviewed through literatures. The results showed that such wet and dry climate alternating history, lead to fluctuations changes in the regional ecological environment and trends in disaster and desertification.Climate change through the accumulation of early human activity patterns, indirectly affected the development of land desertification in the historical period.
