Removal of Cr(Ⅵ) from Aqueous Solution by Adsorption on Barium Modified Bentonite

The calcium-bentonite from Xinyang,Henan Province was converted into Na-bentonite.The Na-bentonite was modified by barium chloride.Then the barium modified bentonite was used for the removal of Cr(Ⅵ) from aqueous solution.The experimental results showed that when the mass ratio of modifier to bentonite is 0.25,the pH value is 5.0-9.0,the dosage of modified bentonite is 8 g/L under 25 ℃,the adsorption equilibrium time is about 60 min,the efficiency for modified bentonite to remove Cr(Ⅵ) which the mass concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) in wastewater is 19 mg/L from aqueous solution is 83.77%.
