Analysis of Yield and Rice Blast Resistance of Hybrids Approved by Sichuan Province in the 11th Five-year Plan

Fifty combinations of middle-indica ternary hybrid rice with late maturity approved in Sichuan during the 11th Five-year Plan were analyzed for yield and rice blast resistance and the correlation between yield and rice blast was studied.The results indicated that there was one combination with good yield and resistance,seven combinations had outstanding yield but were susceptible to rice blast and one combination with resistance to rice blast.The yield in regional test showed extremely significant relation to the mean level of neck blast but negative relation to the maximum neck blast infection.The mean level of neck blast had extremely significant relations to both the highest and mean levels of leaf blast.The test provided suggestion of dominant varieties distribution for rice production and offered reference which helped to cultivate combinations with superior yield and strong resistance to rice blast.
