Research Progress of Dust Emission in Asia

LU Jia et al(Qinghai Fifth Institute of Geology Mineral Exploration,Xining,Qinghai 810028)  
North desert in China,the Loess Plateau,the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau are key areas of Asian dust.The further elemental tracer system showed that west desert and north desert in China are main source area of Asian dust and the Loess Plateau.The near-surface winds systems and the westerlies systems have long been regarded as the dominant wind regimes for dust transportation in central Asia.The dust records of the sediments of North Pacific and Greenland GISP2 icecore were compared and discussed.It was found that some records are consistent and some records are different,which represented that the transport,sedimentation,and regional or local situations would affect the dust records.
