Comprehensive Assessment of East Route Water Quality of South-to-North Water Diversion Project Based on LM-BP Neural Network

The comprehensive evaluation of water environmental quality involves various indexes,and a non-linear relation exists among different quality levels.According to this complicated situation,the paper adopts the Matlab software and the algorithm of LM-BP neutral network to assess the water quality,the algorithm has self-adapative capacity and could deal with a variety of complex non-linear problems.The method was adopted to comprehensively evaluate the water quality at two sections of the east route of South-to-North water diversion project for eight years.Firstly,a scientific neural network model is established,secondly,according to environment quality standards for surface water,sufficient training samples and test samples and the corresponding training targets are generated by using Matlab functions.In this way,the network has very good generalization ability and performance of showing degree of water quality,finally,the trained network is used to comprehensively evaluate the water qualities of Yangtze Rive Zhonghong section and Mangdaohe section.The results show that the water quality at the two sections belongs to level I or level Ⅱ,and the former is better than latter,but the two sections have tendency of becoming worse.The conclusions provide some reference for pollution of the east route source in South to North water diversion project.
