Research Progress on Gathering Microalgae with Chitosan by Flocculation

LI Ruo-hui et al(Biochemical Engineering College of Beijing Union University,Beijing 100023)  
Microalgae might be gathered effectively by flocculation with chitosan as a natural alkalin polysaccharide and had very good use value in biomedical,health food,biology feed,biodiesel and ethanol fuel et al.The flocculation efficiency would be improved greatly on chitosan composite with inorganic granular materials and alkali lye.The progress of flocculation mechanism and effect were reviewed.
