Evaluation on Appearance and Sensory Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco in Chizhou Areas of Anhui Province

Flue-cured tobacco samples collected from Chizhou areas in 2012 was evaluated by the standard of flue-cured tobacco leaves grade of China in order to know the appearance quality.The results showed that the appearance quality of flue-cured tobacco leaf was scored higher overall.The score of upper leaf was 74.47,76.66 in cutters and 63.64 in lower leaf.The color of tobacco leaf in Chizhou was orange.The maturity of cutters was higher than upper leaf and lower leaf.So the scores of the color and leaf structure of cutters were higher than upper leaf.But the score of oil and color intensity of cutters was slightly lower than upper leaf.The scores of color,maturity,leaf structure,oil and color intensity of cutters and upper leaf were higher than lower leaf.The sensory quality of tobacco leaf in Chizhou was better.The score of sensory quality in upper leaf was 65.34,64.15 in cutters.The aroma quality of cutters was better than that of upper leaf.The aroma quantity had not significantly different between upper leaf and cutters.The offensive odor of cutters was slightly higher than upper leaf.The strength of upper leaf was higher than cutters,but the density and irritancy had not significantly different between upper leaf and cutters.The sweetness and after taste of upper leaf were slightly lower than cutters.
