On Human Nature in Shakespeare's King Lear

ZHANG Xue-hua (School of Foreign Studies,Anhui University,Hefei 230009,Anhui,China)
William Shakespeare's King Lear demonstrates the following points on human nature: human nature is either entirely good,or entirely evil;some characters experience a transformative phase, where by some trial or ordeal their nature is profoundly changed;the evil, created by humans, will be outweighed by good eventually;blindness in human nature as a mental flaw always leads to the tragic fall of a person;clear vision cannot result from the eyes alone, therefore the world cannot truly be seen with the eyes, but with the heart.
