The Determination of Zinc in Water by The Silver-wire Mercury Film Electrode Flow Cell-ASV

The design of linear sweep anodic stripping voltammetric system based on the flow technique is described. A flow cell with a silver-wire mercury film electrode is used for the determination of zinc in water. At sampling, the samples are acidified by concentrated nitric acid tc pH1. 5, deaerated and ammoniated to pH8~8. 5 by N_2 which passes througk ammonia, and then make a measurement, The peak potemtial of zine about at-1160mv.us, silver reference electrode. The linear range is 0 to 1000 ugl~(-1) of Zn(Ⅱ). The recoveries are 98.2~101. 2% and 97. 7~104. 5%, the coeffs. of variations(n=5)are 3. 4% and 4. 8% for well water and tap water. This method is sensitive, fast, low cost and suitable for environmental monitoring.
