RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DUST-STORM AND LOESS ACCUMULATION & FORMATION OF THE LOESS PLATEAU

HU Liang jun, SHAO Ming an (The Institute of Soil and Water Conservation,Chinese Academy of Sciences & Ministry of Water Resources, Yangling, Shaanxi, 712100 China)
Taking the dust storm phenomenon occurred in recent years as an excuse, the characteristic and regulation of dust storm are discussed. Then the loess deposit, vegetation vicissitude the relationship between dust storm and formation of the Loess Plateau are also discussed. Some results are: the falling of the even dust in the sky from the remote west is not even; the occurrence of dust storm is abrupt, and the effect of runoff and wind to loess deposit is continuous and lasting.
