STUDY ON RELATION OF HEAVY METAL POLLUTION IN SOILS OF RICE LANDS NEAR SMELTERY AND ENZYME ACTIVITIES

This paper studies the difference of activities of three enzymes (urease,sucrase,catalase) in the soils from the smeltery polluted and control (CK) rice lands.At the same time ,the pH,EC and different forms of elements such as N,P,K,Cu,Zn,Pb,Ni are determined.From the result ,we can see that:①The pH of soilnear smeltery is lower than that of CK;The EC of soil near smeltery is higher than that of CK .There are not statistical variation of the total N,P,K between polluted soil and CK soil.②The main heavy meltal element of poilluted soil is Cu.The total and available copper in the soil of 20m are 319.8mg/kg and 218.5mg/kg respectively which are 17 times and 38 times higher than those of CK.③The activities of three enzymes are restrained.As for restrained degree,urease is the most severe.the activities of urease in the soils of 20m,200m,400m and 800m were lowered 77.4%,54.2%,52.4% and 33.9% respectively compared with CK.The activities of urease have stronger relativity to the degree of copper pollution in the soils by regression analysis.So this paper suggested the activities of urease can be used to indicate the degree of copper pollution in the soils near smeltery rice lands.
