The Analysis of Trends on Mortality of Male Residents Lung and Stomach Cancer in Maanshan City from 1983 to 2004

Objective In order to provide a scientific basis for preventing and controlling lung and stomach cancer, the changes of mortality rates of male lung and stomach cancer of residents in Maanshan city from 1983 to 2004 were compared and analyzed and more.Methods The data was summarized in code according to ICD-9 and ICD-10 and treated with the software on death causes of nationwide residents diseases and injuries.Results The standardized mortality rates of malignant tumor, lung cancer and stomach cancer were respectively 166.61, 45.83 and 40.77 per 100,000 from 1983 to 2004 in male residents of Maanshan city. The first death cause was stomach cancer. The second was lung cancer. The mortality of stomach cancer was taking on a trend of decrease, while one of lung cancer revealed a trend of increase.Conclusions The lung cancer was one of the most familiar malignant tumor, especially in males and should be paid great attention to.
