Clinical research of nosocomial infection in general intensive care unit

Objective To analyze the status of patients' nosocomial infection in general intensive care unit and investigate related factors between mixed infection or infection in multiple sites especialy with deep fungal infection and death and prevention and treatment measures for nosocomial infection.Methods 75 nosocomial infection patients in intensive care unit from 2007 to 2008 were included in this study and divided into single infection group(group A),mixed infection or infection in multiple sites group(group B),and mixed infection or infection in multiple sites with deep fungal infection group(group C).The clinical materials of each group such as incidence of nosocomial infection,mortality,and hospitalization days were statistically analyzed.Results The incidence of group A was 45.33%,mortality was 23.53%,and average hospitalization days was20.41.The incidence of group B was 54.66%,and mortality was 39.02%(P0.05).Average hospitalization days were 55.15,the difference being significant compared with that of group A(P0.05).The incidence of group C was 26.67%,mortality was 55%,and the differ-ence was significant compared with that of group A(P0.05).Average hospitalization days was 33.Conclusion It is reciprocal causation between mixed infection or infection in multiple sites and prolonged hospitalization period,and mixed infection or infection in multiple sites with deep fungal infection increased the mortality.It is significant to reduce critical patients' mortality through paying attention to overall monitoring of nosocomial infection and preventing and curing deep fungal infection in time.
