Determination of quercetin in furong ointment by HPLC

Aim To establish an HPLC method for determining the content of quercetin in hydrolysates of furong ointment.Methods The determination of quercetin in hydrolysates of furong ointment was carried on a column of Hypersil ODS(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) by HPLC,with the mixture of methanol-0.5% phosphoric acid(55∶45) as the mobile phase.The flow rate was 0.8 ml·min-1.The detection wavelength was 375 nm.Results The linear range of determination by HPLC was 0.324~1.620 μg(r=0.999 1).The precision(RSD) was 1.08%.The average recovery was 99.74%.Conclusion The method is accurate and reliable,which is suitable for the determination of the quercetin in furong ointment.
