Objective:To study the protective effects of total glucosides of paeony (TGP) and extract from Angelica sinensis (EAS) on experimental hepatitis. Method: Mouse acute liver injury model was induced by D galactosamine (D GL)or carbon tetrachloride(CCl 4).Result:The decrease of ALT, AST, ALP, and the increase of GSH in serum, which were induced by D GL or CCl 4,could be antagonised by TGP and EAS, the hepato cellular degeneration and necrosis induced by D GL could also be diminished. The optimal dosage is TGP(200 mg·kg 1 /d, 7 d, ig) plus EAS (153.4 g·kg 1 /d,7 d, ig). Conclusion: Pre treatment with TGP and EAS moderately prevents the liver damage induced by D GL or CCl 4.
