Change of P300 in Hepatolenticular Degeneration Patients with Treatment Combining Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine

TONG Jian-bing,WANG Xiao-yan,GAO Ning-bin(Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Anhui Hefei 230031,China)
Objective: To observe the change of P300 in hepatolenticular degeneration(HLD) patients with treatment combining traditional Chinese and western medicine. Methods: P300 of 30 HLD patients was analysed before and after one-month treatment by the HLD-Relief decoction supplemented with copper-clearing drug, and the result was compared with that of 30 patients in normal control group. Results:Compared with that of normal control group, the P300 latency was prolonged(P0.01)and the P300 amplitude was lower(P0.01)in HLD patients;after treatment, the P300 latency was shortened(P0.05),but alteration of the P300 amplitude was not significantly different. Conclusion: Treatment combining traditional Chinese and western medicine produces a marked effect on cognitive dysfunction in HLD patients.
