Aim: To observe the inhibitory effect of Stichopus japonicus acid mucopolysaccharide (SJAMP) combined with cortisone on murine solid tumors. Method: Test of antitumor effect of drugs on transplantable tumors in mice Results: SJAMP could recover the immunosuppression induced by cortisone. Moreover, according to this administrating scheme, the tumor inhibitory rates on MA737, HEPA22, L795, S180, U14, Lewis lung carcinoma and stomach fibrosarcoma were 27%~82%. The combination of these two agents showed the additive effects on stomach fibrosarcoma, MA737, HEPA22 and U14 (q=1.01~1.15) and the synergistic effects on S180, L795 and Lewis lung carcinoma (q1.15). Conclusion: SJAMP combined with cortisone is a reasonable chemotherapeutical scheme on the treatment of solid tumors.
