Changes of Free Amino Acid Levels in Different Brain Regions of Aging Rats

Wistar's rats were injected with D-galactose to construct a aging animal model. Then the free amino acid levels in certain brain regions of the aging model were compared with control group. The results showed: (1)Glu and Asp levels of hippocampus(hipp.), striatum(str.) and cortex(cort.) decreased obviously in aging model; (2)GABA level of hippocampus, striatum and cerebellum(cerebell.) regions increased apparently in aging model; (3)taurine level of cerebellum, hippocampus, striatum and cortex decreased obviously in aging model group.
