HAN Yi, DAI Can, TANG Lu-ying (Collge of Life Seiences, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China)
The effect of volatile oil from Artemsia argyi on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and influenza virus (IFV) in vitro was studied. The antivirus effects on Hela and MDCK cell lines were observed by microcytopathic-inhibiting-test. Following the method of Reed-Muench assay, the effective dose of 50 percentages (IC 50) and treatment index (TI) were measured. The IC 50 and TI values to RSV were 3.33mg·L -1 and 9.4. There was no inhibiting effect on IFV.
