Studies on Safe Edibility of Common Wild Vegetables in Zhanjiang

ZHANG Shu-xia(Life Science and Chemistry School,Zhanjiang Normal College,Zhanjiang 524000,China)  
The contents of nitrate,vitamin C,carotene and amino acid of common wild vegetables in Zhanjiang were determined.The result showed that Amaranthus spinosus and Angelica flaccida kom were rich in vitamin C and carotene.But the content of nitrate was low.So they are good wild vegetables.Althought the content of carotene in Aster scaber,and Lycium chenense were very high,the former of lack of vitamin C,amino acid and high content of nitrate of the later,they are unsuitable for eating too much.The nutrient of the other wild vegetables were better than the traditional ones.They are safe edible.
