Study on the Suitalbe Soil Moisture for Main Crops at Sowing Stage in Mountain Area of Souther Ningxia

The emergence tests of different soil moisture was carried out,and the suitable soil moisture of sowing was studied as to the practical problem of relatively arid for main crops such as potatoes and mulched maizes when sowing in mountain area of Southern Ningxia.The results showed that the suitable soil moisture for the mulched maizes when sowing was at 15%,and the potatoes was at 11%~12%.While it was lower than this standard,supplementary irrigation was required.When irrigation quantity was generally 0.15kg/scoop,the emergence rate of potatoes could reach 75%~90%.
