Study on Extraction Conditions of Pectin from Tobacco Stem

ZHAO Shi-min LV Qing-xia (Department of Food Science and Engineering,Shaoguan University,Shaoguan Guangdong 512005)  
After bleached,the tobacco stem was heated under acidic conditions to extract pectin,and then ethanol was added to leach solution to precipitate the pectin.The results showed the best conditions for pectin extraction could be regarded as follows,liquid-solid ratio was 14/1 (mL/g),extraction temperature should be taken as 80℃,2 hours should be taken for extraction process,the pH value of extracting solution was regulated to 1.0,when the pectin was precipitating,concentration of ethanol in extracting solution was controlled to 50%.The extration rate of pectin could reach the maximum yield of about 9.4%.
