Research on Soil Moisture in Western Region of Liaoning Province Based on MODIS Data

Remote sensing monitoring of soil moisture is the frontier in the application of remote sensing technology currently.Diversified information on the large scale can be acquired rapidly and dynamically using remote sensing image,as to offer technique support and ensure accuracy for the soil moisture monitoring.Thermal inertia model was used to retrieve the soil moisture on the basis of MODIS image data from April to May since 2006 to 2009.Then the linear relationship was constructed between PATI and measured data.Finally,the soil moisture distribution of western region of Liaoning province in the spring time was acquired with the linear model.So that a retrieval method which was more suitable for the real-time monitoring of soil moisture in western region of Liaoning province during the spring time was found,which might lay the foundation for the real-time monitoring of soil moisture in this region in future.
