THE RELATION BETWEEN VASCULAR TISSUE OF WHEAT INTERNODE AND GRAIN NUMBER PER SPIKE

The number of macro-bundles and micro-bundles are complementary each another,and the negative correlation between the two types of bundles is significant (r=-0.4118~(**)) .Thus,the total number of internodal macro-bundles and micro-bundles are more stable than that of macro-bundles and micro-bundles separately.The number and area of internodal bundle tissue of wheat are positively related to the grain number per spike,but the degree of relationship is different among them. In general,there is a trend that the relationship of macro-bundle and the grain number per spike is closer than that of the micro-bundle, and also closer than that of the bundle area; further more, the relationship of the development degree of upper internode bundle tissne and the grain number per spike is closer than that of the lower internode.
