Based on the established GIS of Dashan village, forestland value and its ecological assessment were analyzed. The results showed that developing economical forest, such as chestnut, fresh fruits, have brought more benefit to village economy. In the paper, the authors focused on the analysis of ecological suitability for land use, particularly on hill land. In which, most of land with gradient 25° has not been used for crop cultivation, and most of plantation on hill has been managed as head water forest. For this objective,it is need to introduce both of broad leave and native species of ever-green into the plantation. Whereas the small part of land with gradient20° should be changed to other uses for erosion control.
