Investigation on natural secondery growth forest commulities in limestone mountain region of Shexian county

Natural secondery growth forest commulities in some limestone mountain region of Shexian county were investigated and its characteristics were probed for offering the basis for the varieties of trees and the choice of regeneration trees in this area.The survey revealed that the forest communities in limestone mountain region of Shexian county formed different kinds of forest community because of the differences of regional soil terms,thickness of soil layers and the degree of rock uncovered.In Shexian county,the major type of forest communities are Quercus acutissima-Platycarya strobilocea forest,Liquidamba formosama-Q.acutissima-Dalbergia hapeana forest and L.formosama-Q.glandulifera var.brevipetiolata forest.The more steady ascendent tree species are Q.acutissima,L.formosana,etc.
