The Wood Anatomical and Physical Properties Of Daxodium Ascendens

The wood anatomical and physical properties of Taxodium ascendens Brangn were reported inthis paper.It’s tracheid length was 2.266mm,tracheid width was 36.13μm,one of cell wall thick-ness was 7.18μm,length-width ratio was 68.52,cell wall-lumina ratio was 0.767,flexible coef-ficient was 0.492,microfibrillar angle within the S2 layer of secondary wall was 13.08°,basic den-sity was 0.344g/cm3.Within 20 years,it’s average year width was 5.16mm,latewood ratio was10.11%.The tracheid length,width,length-width ratio,flexible coefficient of the wood in-creased gradually from pith to bark. The basic density decreased early,then increased slowly after11 years old. It follows that,timber of the species is good materials for paper making.It can be re-forested on beach land along Yangtze River and low hill lands as well.
