STRUCTURE AND THERMAL ANALYSIS OF POLY (VINYL ALCOHOL)/GRAPHITE OXIDE INTERCALATED NANOCOMPOSITE

Poly(vinyl alcohol)/ intercalated graphite oxide nanocomposite is prepared and characterized by X-Ray Diffraction and High-Resolution Electron Microscope. The results show that the d-spacings of buck GO and PVA/GO composite are around 0.89 nm and 1.4 nm respectively. Its differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry patterns suggest that the increase of contents of GO in PVA/GO composite will result in the increase of glass transition temperature and oxidizing temperature and the decrease of mass loss rate of PVA/GO composite.
