AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON WASTEWTAER PROCESSING IN THE INNS AND RESTAURANTS BY USING A NEW AGENT

The present paper introduces a new flocculation agent for wastewater processing in the inns and restaurants. The experimental results gained by the authors show that it is effective in this way of application. The actual chemical agent the authors use is a kind of cheap chemical coagulant sedimentation by adding a certain amount of flocculation. The key parameters of the experiment can be shown as follows: The removing rate of COD Cr should be over 90% under the optimal processing conditions; The outflow quality is to be up to the standard of direct discharge into the environment or to meet the needs of the agricultural irrigation; The adding quantity of flocculation agent should be 1.5 mL (5% solution) per 100 mL, with the mixing speed at about 90~120 r/min with the mixing time of 60~90 s; The sedimentation period should last at least 20 min till the sand filtration and activated carbon are fully absorbed. The present paper has also developed its reaction principle in its five conclusions. First, the removing rate of COD Cr in the wastewater processing can be as high as 90% or more. Second, the method of coagulation has its own advantages over the other methods in processing, such as a smaller area to be occupied and involves little investment due to the simple operation and management. Third, the optimal processing parameters are the adding amount of flocculation agent (1.5 mL (5% solution) per 100 mL). Fourth, given the clear flow chart, the process adopted has proved to be practical in manipulation. Finally, processing cost can be as low about RMB 0.13 yuan/m 3 due to its use of flocculation as an agent. In brief, it helps to open a new path for wastewater recycling.
