AN ANALYSIS OF FIVE CHIEF POLLUTION SOURCES OF TSP IN DOWNTOWN AMBIENT AIR OF YUXI THROUGH FACTOR ANALYSIS

The present paper has introduced the author's investigation and identification of the five chief emission sources of TSP (the total suspended particles) in the ambient air of Yuxi city's downtown areas. The investigation and statistics have been made by using the factor analysis method, one of Multivariate Statistical Methods. The statistical results indicate that the average contribution rates of the five chief sources that contribute to the TSP of Yuxi can be roughly estimated below: cement/limestone source was 52. 32%, soil source was 22. 74% , traffic source: 12. 06%, steel production; 7. 45% i coal and refuse combustion source was 3.51%.
