Chromatographic determination of organ- phosphorus pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables

The present paper introduces a method for extracting, purifying organphosphorus pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables as well as for their determination by capillary chromatographic. First of all, it presents the method on how to extract the four kinds of pesticide residues in the sample form, namely, methamidophos, parathion, malathion, parathion-methyl were extracted respectively by using water and acetone as solvents. Secondly, it introduces the purification process by means of a column(1.5 cm×30 cm) packed with anhydrous sodium sulfate and alumina. Last of all, the pesticide residues are concentrated for some time in the rotatory evaporator and then the final samples are determined by the flame ionization gas chromatography. Recoveries of the four kinds of pesticide residues in the samples were 81%90%,82%90%,84%102% and 80%90% respectively, and the coefficient of their variations were all less than 8.0% after calculation. The results indicate that the above method is highly sensitive, repeatable and applicable.
