Influence of expressway construction on vegetation and analysis of compensation effect of forestation: a case study of Xinyang-Biyang Expressway

The present paper is aimed at introducing the authors' analysis of the ecological environment, the influence of the construction project on the appraisement district vegetation and the production of the local area. The analysis results show that: (1) The project takes away 449.4 hm\+2 basically farmland for ever at a loss of an area of the crop output of 704 045 kg/a. (2) The project will reduce vegetation coverage rate 0.10%1.35% at the appraisement district. (3) Forestation recovery of expressway can only be made up for the vegetation loss at a rate of 10%37%. (4) The project will cause a biomass loss of the appraisement district to a degree of 68.567 2 T·km~(-2)·a~(-1), with the afforestation to compensation contract of 12.165 9 T·km~(-2)·a~(-1), and the compensation rate contract 14.8%22.3%. At the same time, according to existent problem, the suggestions in vegetation recovery and compensation have been put forward to the departments concerned.
