Advances in study of electrochemical biosensor for determining organophosphorus pesticides

As is known,biosensor is highly sensitive and therefore can be used as disposable sensors for environmental control.With the extensive research done in this area,great advances have been gained with biosensors based on both inhibition of cholinesterases by organophosphorus compounds and on the direct detection of organophosphorus compounds by organophosphorus hydrolase.The present paper has made a general revision of the advances made on potentiometric and amperometric biosensors according to the principles on which they are made and their respective advantages and disadvantages.In addition,it has also provided a brief description of the main research advances in the last 10 years in environmental and food analysis,including those referring to biosensors still being developed or applications in progress.For example,the esterases,which allows the indirect monitoring of choline by measuring oxygen or producing hydrogen peroxide is also mentioned.
