A study on the detergent for removing the formaldehyde from the clothing and other textile products

The present research is aimed at introducing an improved detergent for removing the formaldehyde from the clothing and other textile products.As is known,it can hardly be possible to avoid a certain residue of formaldehyde left over in the new clothing and other textile products as a result of textile printing and dyeing and impurity cleansing.And,it is also known that formaldehyde is extremely harmful to human health.Therefore,it is of great necessity to take effective measures to make sure to get rid of the residual formaldehyde in them.The major constituents of the detergent are adipic dihydrazides,chitosan,effective penetrant,surface active agent and so on.Through a series of experiments we have proved that the above said detergent is highly efficient(above 90%) in removing the formaldehyde from the clothing when the residue exceeds the allowed figure.The experiments have also examined the purification efficiency of the detergent for the different types of textile as well as the bulk rate of the cleaning water(about 15 mL cleaning agent∶l L water) and cleansing time(4 h),when the detergent is used.Thus,it can be concluded that the residual formaldehyde content in the washed clothing by using the detergent has been successfully made to be in conformity with the national standards.
