Finite element analysis on front end bending during heavy plate rolling

The 2D elastic-plastic thermo-mechanical coupled FEM for large strain was applied to ananlyze front end bending phenomenon during heavy plate rolling.The effect of front end bending which is caused by the difference from rolling line,friction condition,the diameter radio of rollers and the speed radio of rollers is obtained.The study shows that the suitable height of rolling line is from 22 mm to 33 mm,and if the diameter of lower roll is bigger than that of top roll,the suitable domain is 0-20 mm.The results provide reference for making parameters during the heavy plate rolling.
