RFPA simulation and analysis on rock slope subjected to coupled mechanical and seepage flow

The stability analysis on rock slope was conducted by using the RFPA-Slope incorporated with strength reduction theory.Not only were the seepage flow field,stress field and failure zone of slope obtained in the simulation,but also the initiation and growth of the slide surface and macro failure in the slope as well as the safety factor were achieved directly.The numerical results were compared with those outputs obtained in the case without seepage flow,which showed that the displacement of slope increased and safety factor diminished evidently when the seepage flow was considered.And the failure zone expanded due to the influence of seepage flow.The case study indicates that RFPA-Slope can rather rationally predict both safety factor of slope and the corresponding shape and position of the potential slip surface.Accordingly,practical applicability of the proposed technique to complicated cases is verified.
