Influences of annealing technique on microstructure of Mg-4Zn-1.5RE alloy

The Mg-4Zn-1.5RE alloy is introduced briefly.A small rolling machine is used for multi-pass rolling,the influences of annealing temperature and time on microstructure of the rolled plate after different annealing process are also analyzed.Meanwhile,the second phase in the alloy TEM images and the EDS are observed.The experimental results show that the alloy can be rolled for multi-passed at room temperature with annealing treatment at 300 ℃ for 30 minutes between each pass,and the total reduction can reach 60%.At the same time,the recrystallization occurrs after re-rolling in the plate,and the second phase in the alloy is the W phase that contains rare earth elements.
