Analysis of Volatile Oil from Apocynum venetum L. by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry

The volatile oil was extracted from Apocynum venetum L.by using extracted device of simultaneous distillation . The content of the volatile oil was 1.51%.The chemical components of the volatile oil were examined by gas chromatography mass spectromentry (GC/MS),37 constituents were separated and identified. The identified compounds consitute more than 97.83% of the total ion current. The relative content of the components were determined with peak area normalization method,the major constituents were:Eudesma-4(14),11-diene4(14)-11(17.10%),Mentho(7.03%),2(4H)-benzofuranone,5,6,7,7a-tetrahydro-4,4,7a-trimethyl(6.64%),naphthalenemethanol,deca-hydro-,alpha-,alpha-,4a-trimethyl-8-methylene-,\[2R-(2-alpha-,4a-alpha-,8a-beta -,)\](5.25%),Caryophyllene oxide(3.94%).
