Analysis of hand,foot and mouth disease:A clinical analysis of 47 cases

Objective:To study the clinical features,diagnosis and treatment of hand,foot and mooth disease(HFMD).Methods:The clinical symptoms,morphology of the rash,characteristics of distribution and other aspects of HFMD in 47 patients were observed and analyzed.Results:Of the 47 patients,42 were under the age of 5(89.47%),and most of them had the disease in summer.One third of the children had contagious history.The rashes were predominantly present on the hands and the feet,and secondarily in the mouth and on the buttocks.The antibody to Coxsackie A virus in 28 of the 38 children's serum was positive.The course of the disease was about a week on the average.Conclusions:Early diagnosis,isolation and appropriate treatment are essential.
